We used two methods to detect chimeras: Bellerophon v.3, and a BLAST-based method for detecting inter-phylum chimeras (see Supplemental Online Material for details). We have made the following subsets of our 26,160 sequences available for download:
- The 17504 sequences that are “ultra-clean” (no chimeras detected by any method)
- The 256 sequences that passed the Bel3 screen but that were flagged as inter-phylum chimeras
- The 7626 sequences that failed the Bel3 screen but not the inter-phylum chimera screen
- The 774 sequences that failed both the Bel3 screen and the inter-phylum screen
